Transport refrigeration units are 29 times dirtier than Euro VI engines – Dearman

Engines that keep refrigerated vehicles cold are causing significant harm to the environment

Transport refrigeration units (TRUs) are commonly powered by diesel engines, and are currently unregulated in terms of emissions. New research carried out by Dearman – a UK-based developer of clean cold technology – suggests that these engines emit around 29 times more particulate matter in comparison to Euro VI diesels.
