Slippery customer – new piston coatings reduce friction

Federal-Mogul recently introduced two new piston skirt coatings – the EcoTough-New Generation designed for gasoline engines, and the EcoTough-D for diesel engines. Both were made to further reduce engine friction, wear and noise while simultaneously coping with the exertions that are created by downsized turbocharged engines.
