A recent report from global transport consultancy the Transport Research Laboratory (TRL) has investigated the future safety implications of autonomous and electric vehicles. Richard Cuerden, Chief Scientist, Engineering & Technology at TRL, spoke to Automotive World about the opportunities to improve vehicle safety when switching from an internal combustion engine (ICE) to an alternative powertrain.
