Despite India’s up and coming presence as a global automotive growth market, it has always lagged far behind its peers in one particular area: road safety. Even the most basic safety technologies launched in developed markets decades ago have taken years to find their way into new cars in India, and the country has suffered as a result. In 2015, 146,000 people died in road crashes – around 400 every day.
