Regulation leads modern paintshop challenges, says GM

With GM set to open three new paintshops in the US, Automotive World speaks to Rudy Pomper, the OEM’s Senior Manager for Paint Materials and Facilities

Ongoing negotiations with the UAW have seen GM commit to investing a total of US$8.3bn in its US operations. Over US$3bn of this has been earmarked for expansion projects involving paintshop operations. New paintshops will open at the Arlington facility in Texas, and the Fort Wayne and Bowling Green assembly plants in Michigan.
