Porsche takes carbon fibre interest to next level with stake in Capricorn

Porsche has joined the list of vehicle manufacturers that have entered into partnerships or have set up joint ventures with suppliers of carbon fibre; the OEM will acquire a 25% stake in Capricorn Composite

When it comes to a more widespread adoption of carbon fibre composites, securing adequate and uninterrupted supply of the material is essential. In line with this, vehicle manufacturers that have taken on carbon fibre reinforced plastics (CFRP) as an option to reduce vehicle weight have established partnerships or have entered into joint ventures with specialist carbon fibre suppliers.
