No limit, no downside: Ford bullish on biomaterials

Biomaterials contribute just a small percentage to today's vehicles, but their potential is theoretically limitless. Ford has been experimenting with replacing traditional plastic materials derived from petroleum with greener alternatives for 15 years. "It's silly to think that we can depend upon petroleum plastics forever because it is not sustainable," Debbie Mielewski, Ford Senior Technical Leader, sustainability research department, told Automotive World.
