Nissan to ditch D-segment production in Russia

The OEM will stop building the Teana and make room for the Qashqai, putting its faith in SUVs and crossovers

Nissan will halt production of the Teana model at its St Petersburg facility by spring 2016. The company has also confirmed it will begin local production of the Qashqai crossover at the plant. Some Qashqai production will be moved out of its Sunderland facility in the UK, an idea it has been floating as early as April 2012.
