New auto manufacturing investment comes to Tamil Nadu, India

Mahindra & Mahindra will invest in a new facility in Tamil Nadu, though the timeframe for the plant hinges on the state of the Indian automotive market

New car sales in India got off to a slow but positive start to the year, with sales totalling 169,300 units in January 2015. This figure was 3.1% higher than the number of cars sold in January last year, which was around 164,149 units. The country's economy has not bee stellar of late, with the automotive market declining year-on-year for a couple of years.
