Mercedes explores online sales for CV sector

Automotive retail has been gradually shifting online, with consumers looking to the Internet for at least part of the shopping journey. While most of the attention has been given to the private passenger car side of the market, it is impacting the commercial vehicle side as well. Mercedes-Benz is making sure its commercial van customers have all the online options open to them and claims to have become the first manufacturer of commercial vans to open an online sales channel. A pilot project in cooperation with the local dealer network has launched in the Netherlands with the Mercedes-Benz Citan.
