Nissan and Renault have been leading the way in the electric vehicle (EV) segment with the Leaf and Zoe. Since launch, more than 200,000 Leaf models have been sold globally, while total production figures for the Zoe reached 42,266 units in 2015.
How do the two OEMs intend to build on these figures? Kazuo Yajima, Alliance Global Director, EV and HEV Engineering Division, Nissan, heads up the development of EVs and hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) for both Nissan and Renault. Speaking to Automotive World, he revealed a number of on-going developments at the companies.
