India extends electric CV subsidy scheme to March 2028

India’s PM e-Drive scheme now addresses early-stage e-truck market challenges with INR 5bn in allocated funds. By Stewart Burnett

India's Ministry of Heavy Industries has extended the PM E-Drive scheme by two years to March 2028 for selected vehicle categories, while maintaining the original INR 109bn (US$1.24bn) budget. The extension covers electric buses, trucks, ambulances and other emerging vehicle types, alongside public charging infrastructure and testing agency upgrades.
