Over the next two years, 750 buses in the UK will be equipped with technology supplied by GKN that was originally developed for use in Formula 1. Flywheel hybrid technology is not new to the bus sector, but the relatively quick return on investment claimed by GKN Hybrid Power, coupled with its drop-in (retrofittable) ability, make Gyrodrive an attractive option for bus fleets seeking to cut fuel costs.
