COMMENT: The simplest safety technology is still taken for granted

Seat belts have the potential to reduce serious crash-related injuries and deaths by around 50%, and wearing a seatbelt is the most effective way to save lives and reduce injuries in crashes. Despite these encouraging statistics, in the US, the leading cause of death amongst people aged 5-34 is vehicle crashes.
