Major vehicle manufacturers are starting to share their concerns about accelerating the switch from combustion engines to electric vehicles (EVs) as pressure grows from cities and governments for improved urban air quality. Several OEMs have recently warned that profitability may suffer while they look for ways to fund the engineering required to bring EVs to the market more quickly and in greater numbers.
