The Chinese government's efforts to stimulate demand through a tax cut are paying off. Sales of new passenger cars in October jumped 13.3% year-on-year to 1,899,700 units, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM). October's double-digit growth follows a more modest 2.1% rise the month before, which ended five consecutive months of decline.
