A 2019 report from PwC says that virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) are poised to transform the global economy to the tune of US$1.4tr by 2030. Applications have already emerged in automotive: the technologies are transforming the automotive design process by shortening the product development pipeline and saving both time and money.
