The European Commission recently voted on details governing the adoption of Real Driving Emissions (RDE) test procedures. New proposals involve stricter regulation, ensuring that vehicle testing is carried out independently. They will also help monitor the emissions of cars already in circulation.
Although the Commission decided to go ahead with a plan to temporarily raise nitrogen oxide (NOx) emission limits for diesel vehicles, Europe’s Automobile Manufacturer’s Association (ACEA) voiced optimism, suggesting that steady progress is being made.
