Once again, the Guangzhou Auto Show falls at the same time as the LA Auto Show. In a year in which both the local industry and those foreign OEMs dependent on China for a large proportion of the vehicle sales have begun coming to terms with that market’s “new normal,” the show provides some insight into the mood among the domestic and foreign players in the market.
Last year’s show put the spotlight on SUVs, given growing demand for the segment in most markets around the world. This year’s show is no different, but a wide range of mid-market sedans and compacts also make their debut.
