Eindhoven – a small city model of smart mobility

Strong ties between industry and government have produced promising developments in Eindhoven - but not all small cities will move in the same direction. By Xavier Boucherat

Eindhoven has risen to become an important technology centre for European industries, including automotive. The city, with a population of just over 227,000, benefits accordingly, and could prove indicative of the direction smaller cities are heading in. With fewer concerns over congestion and pollution, there will doubtlessly be innovative concepts. Equally, however, some may not be so quick to embrace the future of mobility.
