Buses the easiest, most logical vehicles to electrify – Proterra

The North American electric bus manufacturer is confident the business case for electric buses is there, and the growing US appetite for the segment seems to back this up

The Dallas Area Rapid Transit system in Texas is on a mission to replace all of its internal combustion engine (ICE) powered buses with electric ones, and recently launched seven fully electric vehicles on a downtown route that connects the existing, electrified streetcar and rail services. Proterra is the OEM behind the buses, and as Chief Executive Ryan Popple points out, developments in the Lone Star State are indicative of the appetite for greener buses in the North American region.
