Russia welcomes, cautiously, first sales rise

November avoided the first outright decline since December 2014, but it's too early to read a turnaround trend into it, writes Megan Lampinen

Russia's been waiting nearly two years for a rise in monthly sales, and November finally put an end to that wait. Sales of new passenger cars and light commercial vehicles (LCV) rose a modest 0.6% year-on-year (YoY) to 132,346 units. The last time the market reported a YoY sales rise was in December 2014.
