UK slowdown hits Opel’s German production

Opel is preparing to introduce short-time working at two German plants as demand in the UK slows, writes Megan Lampinen

Brexit could be about to claim one of its earliest victims. Opel is preparing to scale back some output at its Rüsselsheim and Eisenach plants in Germany in expectation of weakening demand in the UK. The plants build the Corsa and Insignia, and the UK is their largest European market.
