Vehicle safety watchdog Latin NCAP has called on GM Chairman and Chief Executive Mary Barra to honour her much-touted commitment to safety and meet with the group to discuss priorities for the Latin America region. This follows demands made in an open letter dated 16 November 2015, which called on the OEM remove zero-star safety rated cars from the market and begin standard fitment of airbags in the Chevrolet Aveo, the top selling vehicle in Mexico.
