Japan: Auto sales up 37.7%

In August, the Japanese automotive industry accounted for sales of 424,986 passenger cars, trucks and buses in the domestic market. Compared with figures seen in August 2009, this was an increase of 37.7%. Sales were, however, down compared with the 486,606 vehicles sold in July 2010.
