Deals include up to 14% off MSRP or no-interest financing
Consumers in the market for an all-wheel drive vehicle may want to consider buying in January as there are notable savings off MSRP on multiple models equipped with this capability, according to TrueCar, Inc. (NASDAQ: TRUE).
Consumers in the market for cars, crossover utility vehicles and pickup trucks with either all-wheel or four-wheel drive system can find large discounts this month.
Jeep’s four-wheel drive Cherokee is transacting as much as 14 percent off MSRP this month. The Mazda CX-5 with all-wheel drive is available with zero percent financing for up to 36 months. Subaru is offering a special lease promotion of $199 for 36 months on its Legacy model, standard with all-wheel drive.
“Consumers looking for a vehicle ideal for winter driving should take advantage of savings on four-wheel drive vehicles this month,” said Eric Lyman, TrueCar’s vice president of industry insights. “When driving in harsher climates or going off road, all-wheel drive vehicles provide added security. For Subaru, AWD is standard on all models as a strategy to give customers added peace of mind.”
Historically, January yields the lowest level of savings off MSRP compared to the rest of the year. On average, consumers can expect to save 6.8 percent off MSRP this month versus December, which produces the largest discount off MSRP with 7.7 percent savings.
“Coming off strong year-end and holiday sales, January is historically somewhat less consumer-friendly, in terms of deals,” said Stacey Doyle, TrueCar’s senior industry analyst. “However, there are some sizable savings on select 2016 models for consumers willing to brave the winter weather to make a purchase this month.”
Published monthly, the “TrueSavings” report analyzes recent transaction prices and identifies opportunities for consumer savings.
