I am deeply flattered and honored to receive the Medal with Blue Ribbon from the government of Japan.
Over the years, I have devoted myself to the expansion and development of Nissan Motor’s production activities and to the world’s first mass-production of electric vehicles. However, production of these vehicles couldn’t have been achieved without the contribution of many highly dedicated and professional people from the Nissan Research and Engineering Department, the Production and Supply Chain Management Department, the Purchasing Department, and from materials and parts manufacturers and mold and facility manufacturers. Thanks to their commitment, I became but one of those who contributed to the world’s first mass-production of electric vehicles, and, as Executive Director and Secretary General of the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, Inc. (JAMA), performed what I was able to for the development of Japanese industry.
While receiving this medal, I wish to express my heartfelt appreciation for so many people’s superlative effort and contribution.
