Raghav Himatsingka, a Director of Ideal Movers, has been confirmed as speaker in the Road Freight Efficiency Stream at Automotive Megatrends India 2015.
Himatsingka graduated with a Masters degree from Stanford University and studied Industrial Engineering at Georgia Tech with a specialisation in Logistics & Supply Chain. He has travelled to over 40 countries in all seven continents and has developed a broad, global view of the supply chain business by interacting with professionals from across Europe, America and Asia.
Himatsingka started two new business divisions from scratch in his company – that now contribute about US$2m+ annually to total sales – and has hands on experience in running large fleet operations. Operational challenges in India are unique, and to combat these challenges, he is driving a radical change in the mindset and operations of his company by using technology, operational innovations and a strong focus on performance metrics
“Ideal Movers is one of India’s largest heavy transportation companies in terms of revenues (US$100m+) and fleet size (about 1,850 owned vehicles). As one of the promoters/directors of the company, my role in the business is primarily to oversee marketing, operations and strategy to ensure maximum profitability (ROI & ROCE) in the present as well as in the medium to long term,” he explained.
“I feel that the conference is doing a fantastic job in bringing the voice of service providers. Conferences often talk about new products, new technologies, futuristic ideas, macro economic trends and we hear from lawmakers and large multi-national companies who have the resources for both R&D and marketing,” Himatsingka said. “However, the voice of the actual users of the product/technology often goes unheard. I bring to the table the issues, challenges and possible solutions for fleet owners to increase efficiency of their fleet and thus their profitability. I will not go into hypothetical situations or theoretical models, but talk about only those initiatives that are practical and can be implemented immediately for immediate benefits. I imagine that the talk will be useful for both fleet owners as well as manufacturers.”
