The casting technologies (also known as Grede) subsidiary of Metaldyne Performance Group, Inc. (NYSE: MPG), a leading provider of highly engineered components for use in powertrain and suspension applications for the global light, commercial and industrial vehicle markets, has been recognized with a 2016 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year – Energy Management Award by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year recognizes world class corporate energy management programs. The annual award is presented by the EPA and the Department of Energy (DOE) to organizations that demonstrate improved energy performance of buildings and plants through a corporate-wide energy program. The Awards ceremony took place April 13, 2016, in Washington, D.C.

In 2015, MPG Casting Technologies completed 235 Continuous Improvement and ENERGY STAR projects, saving enough energy to power 1,000 homes for one year. Overall, MPG Casting Technologies energy intensity has reduced five percent over the last three years.

Since its inception in 1992, ENERGY STAR and its partners have helped prevent a total of more than 2.4 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions. In 2014 alone, ENERGY STAR and its partners provided more than $11 billion in societal benefits due to reducing damages from climate change.
