George Luckey, Technical Expert and Group Leader, Stamping and Aluminum Technology, Ford Motor Company has been confirmed as a speaker at Fuel Economy Detroit.
Dr. George Luckey is a Technical Expert in the Materials and Manufacturing Research Department at Ford Research and Advanced Engineering. He has 16 years of automotive experience in advanced manufacturing technology development for lightweight automotive applications.
Dr. Luckey’s research has centered on the enhanced formability of aluminum sheet at elevated temperatures. He has been responsible for leading several research and advanced engineering projects on new aluminum alloys, sheet metal forming, aluminum tube hydroforming and heat treatment.
Dr. Luckey has focused on the implementation of advanced aluminum alloys, metal forming processes, and heat treatment methods used to engineer and manufacture Ford F-Series body structure while also maintaining Ford’s research pipeline supporting next generation automotive aluminum applications.
