ŠKODA AUTO Russia, VOLKSWAGEN Group Rus and GAZ Group are celebrating a new record: the 100 000th vehicle was delivered from the Nizhny Novgorod conveyer. The milestone model – a silver color ŠKODA Octavia 1.8 TSI Elegance liftback was shipped to the customer in Novosibirsk. Currently the company manufactures the third generation of ŠKODA Octavia model, ŠKODA Yeti and Volkswagen Jetta.

Production of the 100-thousandth car is a symbolic achievement, which proves the effectiveness of this partnership and confirms the popularity of this model range with Russian clients. Success in Russia, one of the most important markets for ŠKODA will undoubtedly make a significant contribution to achieving the key objectives of the company which are to increase the global sales to at least 1.5 million units a year by 2018”.

Production of ŠKODA in Nizhny Novgorod is carried out in the context of the partnership of VOLKSWAGEN Group RUS and GAZ Group, which is part of the Basic Element, one of the largest diversified industrial groups in Russia. In 2011, the plant in Nizhny Novgorod became the second Russian site where assembly of ŠKODA was localized. In December 2012, it started the full cycle production of ŠKODA Yeti, and in June 2013 the first third generation Octavia cars, assembled from CKD were delivered from the plant conveyer. Volkswagen Jetta model is also produced here starting from March 2013. The full cycle (CKD) includes body welding, painting and assembly of the car.
