UAW membership grows despite opposition

Despite strong pockets of resistance, the United Auto Workers (UAW) is expanding its reach and growing its numbers. According to figures from the union's Labor Organization Annual Report, filed with the US Department of Labor, its membership figures jumped nearly 9,000 last year to 391,415 units.
