Politics plays supporting, not starring, role in Ford’s Mexican about-face

Ford's done a dramatic about-face on its Mexican small car production plans. Faced with slowing demand for small cars in its home market and possible tariff barriers on imports from Mexico, the OEM is scrapping plans to build a US$1.6bn plant in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.
