PAYD insurance to revolutionise young driver safety

With the help of telematics, it is predicted that new driver crashes among 17-25 year-olds could reduce by up to 40%, and mass volume adoption of Pay How You Drive (PHYD), black box or telematics insurance would prevent a total of 28,749 crashes on UK roads each year

Road crashes are still the biggest accidental killer of young people, and it is estimated that one in five young drivers will crash just six months after passing their test.

With the help of telematics, however, it is predicted that new driver crashes among 17-25 year-olds could reduce by up to 40%, and mass volume adoption of Pay How You Drive (PHYD), black box or telematics insurance would prevent a total of 28,749 crashes on UK roads each year, according to a report published by UK-based young driver insurer Ingenie.
