One year ago, Volvo Cars and Geely announced plans to set up a new R&D centre in Gothenburg to develop a modular architecture for future C-segment cars. Specifically focussing on smaller models for both Volvo and its parent company, China-Euro Vehicle Technology (CEVT) was set up as a separate company and began work last spring.
