Keith Wipke is the hydrogen, fuel cell, and hydrogen technologies Programme Manager at the US Energy Department’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). The NREL covers the majority of the US DoE’s programmes, including hydrogen production primarily based on renewables, to storage, conversion in fuel cells, applications, technology validation and market transformation.
Wipke, who previously led the Hydrogen Analysis Group, which worked with Sandia National Laboratory to develop H2FIRST, spoke to Automotive World about the use of hydrogen in fuel cell vehicles (FCVs).
