Production in China is predicted to rise around 42% by 2022, with a significant increase in the number of vehicles being built – from 22.6 million in 2014 to 32.1 million. To meet this demand, GKN has announced that it will spend US$850m with its partner Huayu Automotive on creating new facilities for research and development and increasing production capacity. Automotive World spoke to Arnaud Lesschaeve, GKN Driveline President Asia Pacific about the company’s expansion in China.
