How are dealers responding to COVID-19?

Vehicle retailers are exploring alternatives to the traditional forecourt interaction in light of the pandemic, writes Megan Lampinen

The outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and the subsequent social distancing and stay at home orders have forced automotive retailers to get creative. Even before the lockdowns, the number of dealer visits was on the decline, and has now hit rock bottom. "Today we are down to zero dealership visits per purchase," observed Julia Saini, Associate Partner at Frost & Sullivan (F&S). The thinking at the moment is that buyers will continue to demand contactless transactions once the immediate health concerns abate.
