Going electric: Nissan switches on European taxis

After demonstrating its compatibility in real-world conditions, the Nissan Leaf slowly started to make its way into taxi fleets across Europe. With the release of the Nissan e-NV200 earlier this year, the influx of EVs in the taxi segment has continued to grow steadily.

Over the past two months, there has been renewed interest in the electrification of taxis. Pure electric vehicles are slowly increasing their share of the taxi segment, particularly in crowded cities where air pollution levels are high and governments are under pressure to improve the cleanliness of public transportation.
