Dieselgate takes €6.7bn bite from VW’s Q3

While VW's CFO warns that total costs could be "enormous", they should also be "manageable" and many industry watchers suggest the troubled OEM may just survive the scandal after all

The diesel emissions testing scandal has taken a €6.7bn (US$7.34bn) bite out of Volkswagen Group's Q3 and new Chief Financial Officer Frank Witter has warned that total costs could be "enormous." However, he also added that they should be "manageable" and many industry watchers suggest the troubled OEM may just survive the scandal after all.
