Buckle up: NTSB pushes for greater occupant protection

Large parts of the US still lack primary seat belt laws. Without these, preventable accidents will keep happening. By Xavier Boucherat

The National Transport Safety Board (NTSB), the US-based government agency charged with investigating transport accidents and making safety recommendations, has published its annual most-wanted list. Among other things, the board has called for the promotion of collision avoidance technologies in highway vehicles, an end to driving under the influence of drink or drugs, and for a nationwide clampdown on the use of mobile phones when driving.
