Uber invests US$300m in Lucid as part of robotaxi deal

Uber aims to deploy a ‘premium’ robotaxi service in the US using Lucid Gravity SUVs beginning in 2026. By Stewart Burnett

Uber has announced it will invest US$300m in Saudi Arabia-backed electric vehicle (EV) maker Lucid and purchase at least 20,000 Gravity SUVs. The SUVs will be equipped with self-driving firm Nuro's autonomous technology as part of a multibillion-dollar premium robotaxi deal starting in 2026.
