Model diversification furthers Waymo’s AV testing confidence

Waymo has already tested its self-driving technology in five different form factors. It's now adding a sixth, writes Megan Lampinen

The race towards autonomy shows no signs of slowing down in the wake of the fatal Uber crash earlier in March. While Arizona authorities and safety experts probe the cause of the accident, Waymo is accelerating its own autonomous vehicle (AV) activities. On the eve of the New York Auto Show, the technology leader has announced a new long-term partnership with Jaguar Land Rover (JLR).
