When you talk growth segments, you talk SUVs and crossovers. But within that segment, it is the subcompact models that are really flying off the dealer lots, drawing buyers with their impressive safety technology, fuel efficiency and affordable prices. Analysis from Frost & Sullivan (F&S) predicts that global sales of subcompact SUVs and crossovers will reach 7.4 million units by 2022, compared to 3.2 million last year. Interest has been building over the past few years - between 2012 and 2014 the global market grew by more than 40% - and momentum should carry on.
