Germany’s Merz objects to proposed EV fleet mandate

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz is pushing back against proposals to require fleets across Europe to electrify. Bild Zeitung had reported that the European Commission (EC) was drafting regulations that would require rental car firms and large companies to purchase only electric vehicles (EVs) from 2030.
