Johnson Controls will showcase innovative new fabrics and finishing for seats and truck cabs at the IAA Commercial Vehicles from 25 September to 2 October 2014 in Hannover. New automotive seating solutions for comfort and customizable design will be shown at booth C12, hall 16.

The left panel of seat cover fabric is uncoated – here the coffee stain immediately soaks into the fabric. The right panel of fabric has been treated with the Johnson Controls FreshPer4mance coating. Here the coffee forms pearls on the surface and is easily wiped off with a cloth – without leaving any marks.

Johnson Controls will use two Recaro prototype seats at the IAA to demonstrate textile solutions of the future. The new, user-friendly and highly effective “FreshPer4mance” seat coating repels liquid and prevents static and germs while the climate fabric seat cover eliminates moisture in the seat.

Furthermore, Johnson Controls’ automated sewing technology allows for current and interesting three dimensional patterns on the seat cover. The company will demonstrate a seat cover with light-transmitting decorative elements that differentiate the seat from a typical car seat.

Visitors will also see that sustainability is important with the newly developed “foamless fabric,” a fully recyclable, un-laminated material manufactured in a way that helps reduce the amount of plastic in seats.
