Today, the millionth engine produced at Toyota Motor Industries Poland (TMIP) will be delivered to Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK (TMUK) and assembled on a Toyota Avensis.
The one millionth engine produced at TMIP is a 2.0 liter diesel engine. It was produced on August 21st. The engine will be delivered today and will be assembled on a Toyota Avensis produced in TMUK.
TMIP CEO, Mr Kazunari Masuoka said: “This is an important day for TMIP as it marks an important milestone with the 1 millionth engine production “made in Jelcz-Laskowice”. This engine will be transported to a vehicle plant and finally delivered to a Toyota customer. At this occasion, I would like to thank all employees of TMIP for their efforts and commitment in their daily work (…).I’m sure a lot of them remember the start of TMIP activities, the first machines installation, first production trials and start of mass production of AD and ND engines (…). We will soon celebrate the 10th anniversary of the mass production start. This will mark another milestone in TMIP’s history”.
