Joaquín Serra (Les Planes d’Hostoles, Spain, 1959) is the new Director of Quality at SEAT. Serra will report directly to the company’s Chairman, Jürgen Stackmann, and replaces Frank Schreier who has been named Director of Quality at ŠKODA.

Serra has a degree in Industrial Engineering specialising in Electrics and Electronics from ETSEIB (School of Industrial Engineering of Barcelona) and an MBA from ESADE. He joined SEAT in 1986 as the engineer in charge of Electrical Parts Quality, and in 1991 took part as Head of Supplier Parts Quality in the commissioning of the new factory in Martorell which opened in 1993. In 1994 he took over Assembly and Engines Quality before returning in 2000 to Supplier Parts Quality. Shortly afterwards he also assumed the leadership of the company’s central laboratory. In 2009 Serra moved to Volkswagen Mexico to take up the same position at the factory in Puebla – which produces the second largest number of cars in the Volkswagen Group after Wolfsburg – and in 2011 became Director of Quality at the Mexican plant.

Frank Schreier (Celle, Germany, 1958) joined SEAT in October 2011. He holds a Diploma in Industrial Engineering from Braunschweig University of Technology and during his time at SEAT he has driven the company’s qualitative leap and helped turn the Leon into the benchmark for quality in its segment. Schreier has been with the Volkswagen Group for more than 30 years and held a number of positions in Production before becoming Senior Head of Assembly at the Wolfsburg factory and specialising in Quality. Thus before joining SEAT he served as Director of Quality for medium and large car production lines at Volkswagen in Wolfsburg and previously, from 2006 to 2009, Quality Director at ŠKODA, a position to which he now returns. – See more at: http://www.seat-mediacenter.com/en-stories/human-resources/joaquin-serra-new-director-of-quality-at-seat/?v=t&p=1&overview=0&overview=1#sthash.e4nlTKLK.dpuf
