Effective immediately, Dr. Henning Baumgarten accepts responsibility for the worldwide development activities and customer projects in the field of gasoline engines as Group Vice President in the FEV Group. Dr. Johannes Scharf has succeeded him as the FEV manager responsible for the European market activities of the business unit.  With both personnel changes, FEV has strengthened this important segment of its business, keeping the company’s gasoline engine activities on a strong course of growth.  Dr. Baumgarten previously (since 2011) had responsibility for the European gasoline engine business. Dr. Scharf most recently was assigned as the head of FEV’s gasoline engine Thermodynamics department.

“In addition to solutions for full and partial electrification of drivetrains, the gasoline engine itself still presents great potential for increasing efficiency”, explains Professor Stefan Pischinger, president and CEO of the FEV Group. “Both Dr. Baumgarten and Dr. Scharf will place the development focus more strongly on local circumstances, requirements and frameworks.  They are of sustainable strategic importance to us – and to our customers. These personnel changes will strengthen our position as a capable development partner, able of supporting our customers from concept to series production.
