The 21st Wuhan Motor Show (WHMS 2020) took place in Wuhan, a central city in China, from October 15 to 20, 2020. DFM showed up and delivered Innovation Week, to present its star models and new technologies, showing its innovations and new strength in intelligence, electrification and other fields.

With an exhibition area of 100,000 square meters, WHMS 2020 attracted over 400 exhibitors with more than 1,000 models. 30 new models of 25 brands were launched. Nearly 20,000 units were ordered with a total value of over 3.5 billion yuan.

Wuhan is one of China’s six key auto cities. In 2019, the total output value of Wuhan’s auto and auto parts industry exceeded 320 billion yuan. To date Wuhan has brought together 7 automakers, 12 auto assembly plants, over 500 auto parts manufacturers and 54 enterprises among Fortune Global 500.

Headquartered in Wuhan known as a “heroic city”, DFM is one of China’s top 3 automakers and a leading auto enterprise in Wuhan. In the special period, DFM showed up at WHMS 2020 with a strong lineup to offer consumers an ultimate brand and product experience.

At the main booth of Dongfeng, Yixuan, AX7 PRO and other new models are exhibiting strength never seen before. Among them, AX7 PRO has been newly released in China. Its sporty exterior gives a tough impression. It is one of the first Dongfeng models to bear the new track logo. The matrix full-LED headlights and full-LED penetrating signature taillights make AX7 PRO stand out with a strong sense of hi-tech. The 19-inch wind-breaking rims, coupled with Pirelli tires, are capable of coping with various complex road conditions.

Yixuan Track Edition, bearing the new track logo, carries forward the inherent sporty gene of Dongfeng Aeolus.

Yixuan Track Edition features a cool, striking appearance. The air-inlet grille, dynamic tail and fine-textured hubs, showing off the brand new track logo, cater to the demand of young consumers for aesthetics and manipulation. The designers have made bold attempts to liven up its interiors. The vision panels, seats and console, now of a bright red, are a perfect match to the multifunctional racing steering wheel, so much so that the driver can feel the passion on the track and blood boiling in the veins. More impressively, Yixuan Track Edition is complete with the Wind 5.0 artificial intelligence in-vehicle system, L2+ intelligent assisted driving system, 7 classes of voice-control functions and 12 remote control scenarios, ensuring a delightful riding and driving experience.

To better bring out the characteristics of its products, Dongfeng has set up a brainstorming Rubik’s cube, a China trend block and a CTCC racing simulator at the booth. The Aeolus Yixuan racing car, which has won numerous awards on the CTCC tracks, is also on display. Visitors, if they like, can pull on the racing jacket to get an immersive experience of Aeolus’s speed and technological strength.

During Wuhan Motor Show 2020, DFM also held a technological innovation week to showcase its technical center’s R&D results. Apart from an exhibition of more than 100 innovative products, 70-plus industry experts delivered 30 technical presentations and joined in 23 technical forums. In the Dongfeng showroom, visitors and customers were engaged in a dialogue with technology, automotive and the future.

DFM released three of its new technologies at the venue: the cutting-edge high-performance turbocharged direct injection engine C15TDR, the Sharing-VAN 2.0 technology platform and the My@ADAS/AD smart driving technology. These technologies represent Dongfeng’s latest development in the field of “intelligent, connected, electric, sharing and lightweight” cars.

In the central exhibition zone, the booth was flanked by an iFree – the first concept car of Voyah to be mass-produced – and a luxury business concept MPV of Dongfeng Aeolus. Their highly technological appearances attracted a large number of visitors.

In the platform exhibition zone, visitors could quickly build intuitions of the complete vehicle platforms like the DSMA platform and the S platform. Also, they could have a close encounter with such platform products as the platform seat , four- suspension system and breakdowns of lightweight connection sample parts.

In the power module exhibition zone, visitors could not only admire the famed C10TDR and C15TDR engines, but also catch a glimpse of the industry R&D hotspots such as the HD120 hybrid electric drive assembly, self-heating CTP battery pack, in-wheel motor and fuel cells.

In the smart driving exhibition zone, the Dongfeng Sharing-city sandplay again amazed the audience following its debut at the 2020 Beijing International Auto Show. Also on display in this area were Sharing-VAN2.0, the G35-AR-HUD bench and the smart driving domain controller.

During the 13th Five-Year Plan period, DFM followed the “5+N” strategy to integrate smart cars, mobility and logistics into the “dual cycle” development, and to explore the cutting-edge automotive technologies. For the 14th Five-Year Plan period, Dongfeng aims to become an industry leader in operational quality, independent undertakings and emerging business, so that its employees will take the lead to live a better life in the new era.
